The Wealthy and Influential Fiancé has the Ability to Read Mind
Chapter 87
After getting ready, Tang Nuan went with Ye Shuyan to meet Tang Jinxin’s family. Since they were staying in the same hotel, they simply arranged to meet in the restaurant.
Before the meeting, Tang Nuan felt a bit embarrassed, but to her surprise, the whole family was very warm toward Ye Shuyan, especially Shen Jinhua, who already treated him like a son-in-law.
Tang Nuan learned from the conversation that Ye Shuyan had started planning his proposal right after Tang Jinxin, Shen Jinhua, Ye Zhenghong, and Deng Qiong had met. Even while he was on a business trip, he remotely coordinated with the domestic team, personally confirming all the details. Some things were difficult to handle remotely, so he entrusted Tang Fei to execute them.
With the time difference between the U.S. and China, Ye Shuyan was busy during the day and spent his nights overseeing the arrangements. The Tang family was well aware of how much thought and effort Ye Shuyan had put into the proposal.
Tang Nuan bit her lip and quietly reached for Ye Shuyan’s hand. He smiled and intertwined his fingers with hers. The Tang family, naturally, was pleased to see their affection.
Shen Jinhua said, “You two should head back. We’re still having a good time here. Since Xiao Ben is on winter break, we’ll stay a few more days before going back.”
Tang Jinxin ruffled Tang Ben’s hair and laughed, “Let him enjoy himself for a couple more days, or he’ll be crying when his final exam results come out.”
Tang Nuan looked at Tang Ben in surprise. She remembered that his grades were pretty good, so why would he be crying?
Tang Fei laughed and said, “Don’t be fooled by how cool he acts in front of his classmates. In reality, he’s a bit of a crybaby. If he doesn’t make it into the top ten in his grade, he’s bound to cry.”
Tang Ben immediately protested, “Second brother, stop talking nonsense! I don’t cry because of my grades!” He seemed to fear more questions, so he quickly added, “Don’t worry, I worked hard this time. Now, everyone in my class knows I have an amazing big sister and a super awesome second sister. There’s no way I’ll embarrass them, right?”
Tang Fei raised an eyebrow. “Just Big Sister and Second Sister? What about me?”
Tang Ben shrugged, “My classmates don’t really know you.”
Tang Fei: …
“Hey, no discrimination! Even though I’m not as great as Big Sister and Second Sister, I did graduate from a top university!”
Tang Ben pretended not to hear and just reassured him, “No worries. In the future, you can tell people you have an amazing big sister, a super awesome second sister, and a super-super-awesome little brother. No one will look down on you anymore. I’m doing this to boost your reputation.”
Tang Fei: …
Tang Ben raised his glass to everyone and declared, “Anyway, this semester I’m going to get great results, so you all better have those red envelopes ready in advance!”
Everyone burst into laughter.
After dinner with the Tang family, Tang Nuan went to say goodbye to Ji Yun and Li Qiuqiu. They weren’t heading back either.
Ji Yun was staying behind for the leading roles, Xiao Zhiyu and Qu Mengxue.
With the launch of the “Nine Springs” project, Ji Yun was officially planning to open an entertainment company. She wanted to sign both Xiao Zhiyu and Qu Mengxue.
Xiao Zhiyu had always been Ji Yun’s motivation for starting the company. He had been sidelined during his peak popularity because he offended higher-ups at his agency, and Ji Yun had always felt unjust about it. She hoped to create a company for him, allowing him to shine once again.
Now that her wish was about to come true, she was being extra cautious.
As for Qu Mengxue, it was quite a coincidence that she was the same woman they had encountered at the birthday party of Liu Haoqian, the president of Feng Tian when they were looking for Director Feng.
At that time, Tang Nuan only thought the name sounded familiar and didn’t give it much thought. Later, when the crew was preparing, Qu Mengxue came in for the audition for the leading role, and Tang Nuan finally remembered who she was.
Not only was Qu Mengxue beautiful, but she was also a talented actress. Her first two projects had become huge hits, and one would think her career in the entertainment industry would be smooth sailing. However, after those two dramas, there had been no news of her.
It was also because of this audition that Tang Nuan learned that Qu Mengxue was even more formidable than Xiao Zhiyu. Not only did she refuse to be coerced, but due to her martial arts background, she had even dislocated the arm of the executive who had tried to force her into submission.
As a result, her situation wasn’t much better than being sidelined, since that executive had declared that no one in the industry dared to employ her.
Qu Mengxue had originally attended Liu Haoqian’s birthday party to create a stir among influential people, but unfortunately, she never even made it up to the second floor.
During the audition, Tang Nuan was present and was truly impressed; Director Xiao was quite satisfied, and Li Qiuqiu believed she would be perfect for the lead role in “Nine Springs.” However, upon hearing about her past, Director Xiao was still somewhat hesitant.
After all, it would be a loss for the entire production if a single actress caused problems.
But Tang Nuan couldn’t forget Qu Mengxue’s eyes. She was so dedicated, and even if her chances seemed slim, she didn’t show an ounce of indifference. She was desperately seeking opportunities and refusing to bow to fate.
Tang Nuan understood that feeling all too well. If it weren’t for meeting Ye Shuyan, she wouldn’t know how long she would have been struggling in the mire of the Tang Sheng’an family. But she was lucky; she had encountered Ye Shuyan.
For some reason, she wanted Qu Mengxue to have a bit more luck as well. So, Tang Nuan decisively declared that they should hire her. As for that so-called executive, she felt fearless.
Now, with her ability to outsmart even the Jiang family, and with her elder sister Tang Yue and the all-capable Ye Shuyan by her side, she didn’t believe they couldn’t handle a shady executive!
Perhaps because the opportunity was hard to come by, Qu Mengxue put in a tremendous effort, prompting Director Xiao to exclaim that he had struck gold. Ji Yun observed the entire process and was eager to sign Qu Mengxue as well.
There was a lot of preparation involved in signing a new talent, and Ji Yun wanted to find a good manager. In short, there was plenty to do.
Li Qiuqiu, on the other hand, made Tang Nuan a little puzzled, “The script must be finalized by now. What’s she still doing here?”
It was known that Li Qiuqiu was a homebody who would rather stay in than go out.
Ji Yun said mysteriously, “I have a feeling she’s involved with someone. The person should be at the film city, but she’s keeping it tightly under wraps. I have no idea who it is.”
Tang Nuan was surprised, “Could it be that she has her sights set on a certain star?”
Ji Yun speculated the same but, lacking evidence, couldn’t draw a conclusion. The two agreed to keep each other updated, and then Tang Nuan followed Ye Shuyan back to Yan City.
By the time they got off the plane, it was already evening. When they returned to the Genting Community, Tang Nuan thought they would each go home to drop off their luggage first. To her surprise, Ye Shuyan followed her down the elevator, and she looked at him with confusion.
Ye Shuyan leaned down and kissed her, taking her hand to directly open the door. The way he acted, one might think it was his own home.
Once inside, Tang Nuan noticed several boxes in the living room, along with a simple clothes rack filled with clothes, including pajamas and casual outfits which all belonging to Ye Shuyan.
Ye Shuyan walked over and asked with a smile, “Where should I put these?”
At that moment, Tang Nuan finally felt a bit of the reality of living together with this man. But his efficiency was astonishing. She couldn’t help but laugh, “When did you arrange all this?”
Ye Shuyan replied, “When I got up this afternoon.”
They shared a personal assistant, so it was just a matter of making a phone call.
Tang Nuan chuckled, “Didn’t you think about the possibility that I might want to go upstairs with you?”
Ye Shuyan showed her a video, saying, “It’s not impossible.”
Tang Nuan took his phone and saw that his room already had a spot for her. The living room also had a simple clothes rack hanging with her temporary pajamas and clothes, and the walk-in closet had been cleared out significantly, just waiting for her to fill it.
Should she say he truly is Ye Shuyan?
He hugged her from behind, “Let’s set it up like this temporarily, and we can plan it out properly later. How does that sound?”
Tang Nuan suddenly developed a longing for what their life together would be like?
Ye Shuyan felt the same anticipation, “What kind of style do you like?”
“How about we move the functional rooms upstairs and make the downstairs our living area?” Tang Nuan suggested, feeling it was a good idea. “That gym can become your walk-in closet, we should keep a study and a home theater…”
“Let’s keep that,” Ye Shuyan insisted firmly.
“You’re such a rogue!” Tang Nuan teased, pinching him. Ye Shuyan let out a soft “hiss,” and then kissed her fiercely, playfully showing off his rogue side.
They continued to chat and laugh as they organized the items Ye Shuyan had temporarily moved. They hung up clothes in Tang Nuan’s walk-in closet, and when she went to the bathroom to put away toothbrushes, cups, and towels, she glanced at his minimalist personal items and smiled, “I thought you’d arrange something more romantic.”
Ye Shuyan hugged her from behind. “For romance, the couple should choose together.” He kissed her cheek and added with a grin, “Or the lady of the house can choose.”
Realizing he hadn’t forgotten about romance, she felt an urge to hug him back. As she thought this, she turned around.
Ye Shuyan bent slightly and lifted her up, and Tang Nuan clung to him like a koala. She leaned down to kiss him and said, “Ye Shuyan, how can you be so amazing?”
Ye Shuyan tilted his head, mimicking her tone as he replied, “Because you deserve the best.”
Tang Nuan leaned down to press her forehead against his and pouted, “You’re annoying.”
However, just two hours later, tangled in the dark bedding, Tang Nuan decided to take that back—men are all big liars!
After they finished tidying up, it had gotten late, and they were preparing to rest. Ye Shuyan suddenly looked at the fresh green sheets on Tang Nuan’s bed and requested to change them. Confused, she asked, “What’s wrong? Liu Liu just changed them before we got back.”
Liu Liu was their personal assistant.
Ye Shuyan didn’t explain his reason, just shook his head mysteriously, indicating that he didn’t like them and still wanted a change.
Tang Nuan opened the wardrobe to show him a stack of sheets for him to choose from, but he rejected every one of them. Instead, he specifically went upstairs to fetch a set.
Looking at the dark gray four-piece set, Tang Nuan couldn’t help but laugh. “Don’t you like light-colored sheets?”
“Then how did you sleep at the hotel?” she asked, knowing that hotels usually have white linens.
Ye Shuyan had already started making the bed. “It didn’t matter before.”
“Why does it matter today?” Tang Nuan wondered. Was he trying to create some special significance since it was their first night sleeping in the same bed?
Why did it have to be dark-colored bed sheets?
It wasn’t until she had all her clothes removed and was helplessly crying on top of them that Ye Shuyan gently stroked her arm and unsteadily whispered in her ear, “Look, how beautiful…”
Only then did Tang Nuan understand the reason, but by that time, it was already too late.
Tang Nuan finally understood the reason, but by that time, it was already too late.
Ye Shuyan watched as her delicate fingers futilely grasped at the sheets, her snow-white body helplessly struggling among them, her small feet flailing aimlessly…
Everything in the dark-colored bedding was stunningly beautiful, combined with her delicate crying.
His eyes deepened gradually, wanting to make her even more beautiful… and more delicious.
